" We can't predict all the struggles and storms in life, not even the ones just around the next corner, but as persons of faith and hope, we know beyond the shadow of any doubt that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and the best is yet to come."

Happy 8th Birthday Emma!

My girl Emma turned eight this year. Her birthday was the day after we got back from California and it was on a Sunday so the festivities were limited. We had mom and dad over for cake and ice cream and that was about it.
The big party came the next Saturday morning. Emma wanted a luau brunch so that is what we did. We served waffles and smoothees (thanks to my friend Kristin's blender after mine burned up on the first smoothee) and fresh fruit. Then we limboed, played freeze dance, and did a piniata, which left a few of them in tears until grandma divided up the candy evenly. Other than that the party went very smoothly and it was a fun morning.
