All about Britta!

So once a week or so I am going to take a moment and highlight one of the kids. I am choosing Britta this week because she has said some pretty funny things lately and I don't want to forget them before I write them down.. So here is all you ever wanted to know about Britta..

Britta's middle name should be fun, because she is all about having a great time. She loves to dance and sing and play with her friends. She also is a great sister to Emma, Kendyll, and Jackson. You can often find her doing sweet things for her brother and sister without them knowing, and she is a great help to her mom with Kendyll. Britta is in a performing group where she sings and dances. She just finished her first group of performances, and was by far the best! (no mother's bias here.) She loves singing and wants to be the sixteenth American Idol when she grows up. Her dad wants me to get her into showbiz, but I know it would all go to her head, so we will have to see about that.

My favorite recent Britta story happened a couple of weeks ago when we were folding laundry. She was asking me about underwear and why I wear the underwear that I do. I told her it was because when you get married in the temple it shows Heavenly Father that you will keep his commandments. Then she asked her in sassy little way, "What kind of underwear will I wear if I don't get married in the temple?" I told her just normal underwear. Then I said, "but you want to get married in the temple right?" and she said "Of course I do, otherwise our family won't be stapled." She is right too, if you don't get married in the temple you won't be stapled, glued, paperclipped, or bound together.

On that same day just minutes later in fact, she confessed something that she had done that she knew was wrong. She felt really bad about it and started to cry. I asked her why she was crying and she replied, that she didn't want to tell me what she had done because she was afraid that Jesus wouldn't know that she loved him and she wouldn't be a Mormon anymore." Britta has such a sweet sensitive side, and a good knowledge of right and wrong for a five year old. We love her tons and are so happy she is one of us!
