" We can't predict all the struggles and storms in life, not even the ones just around the next corner, but as persons of faith and hope, we know beyond the shadow of any doubt that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and the best is yet to come."

Mom's "Sweet" Sixty

Just when I thought all of my party planning was over, we decided to throw a suprise birthday party for my mom's sixtieth. She is such a great mom, it was the least we could do. So we invited all of her family and friends and planned it as a "sweet sixty" party. Of course we had to have it all just right so we all dressed up from the fifties and did a sweet shop with rootbeer floats and my mom's favorite sweets. We had karoake, which we all love, hula hoop contests, bubble gum, a video and a tribute from each of the kids and my dad, and of course in the VW girl tradition we had to write and sing her a song. It was a fun night, for a wonderful Mom!

The gang was all there
The girls..

more karoake..so fun and so off key

Corey and Casey, were the cry babies at this party, both of them barely got through their tribute, because they were crying. Then they finished the night with their rendition of Material Girl...I don't know what to think anymore, guess we shouldn't have made them play barbies with us when they were little.

The boys, getting in on the performing

The sweet shoppe

The walls, adorned with pictures of Mom from her early years.

Happy Sweet Sixty Mom...Hope you make it sixty more!
