This year we tried a new recipe for our Christmas cookies, and I have to say it was a very pleasant change. We normally do the cookies and then let the kids make a huge mess frosting them, and then throwing them away, because frankly they just look disgusting and the kids make themselves sick eating all of the frosting. So I found this recipe on www.thepioneerwoman.com (whose recipes by the way have not failed me yet) and we gave it a whirl. You paint the cookies with colored egg yolk before you frost them. So we mixed, cut and painted, and I think they turned out pretty cute, and they were pretty delish.
